Chaplain to His Holiness
Born in Jamaica, NY, Father Fetscher came to Florida with his family in 1949 and grew up in and with Holy Family parish in North Miami. The oldest of seven children, his siblings say their mother had six more to prove to the world she could do better. (He says she did.) He attended Archbishop Curley High School and in his senior year was sent to St. Thomas Seminary in Bloomfield Connecticut by Archbishop Joseph Hurley because there were no seminaries in Florida. At that time the whole state was under the diocese of St. Augustine.
Nancy was born in Rochester, NY and attended Brighton High School and Cornel University NY Hospital School of Nursing earning her BSN in 1968. She graduated from Catholic University of America with a Masters in Nursing in 1972. Nancy served in the US Army for 35 years rising to Chief, Army Nursing Corps.
Frank was born in Chicago and grew up in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is a graduate of Campion Jesuit HS in Wisconsin and the University of Dayton in Ohio. Frank was a commissioned officer in the US Army (signal corp.) during the Vietnam conflict. Frank moved to South Florida in 1979 and was the NFL Alumni Inc.'s President/CEO until his retirement in May 2010.
Born in Oneida, New York, Judy attended three different high schools in New York and Pennsylvania and had the opportunity to live in a variety of cities in the northeast: Syracuse and Latham, NY; Lancaster and Camp Hill, PA; Gaithersburg, and Germantown, MD. Judy graduated from Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania and took frequent courses at Catholic University and the University of Maryland.
Ann was born in New York and attended Catholic schools in NYC. After graduating she worked in Long Island City and New Jersey for the Warner Lambert company. After marrying her husband Don, they moved to South Florida in 1970 and Ann taught at Sheridan Hills Christian School in Hollywood, then worked for the Broward County school system at Boyd Anderson HS and Plantation HS. Ann retired from the school system in June 2007.
Bob was born in Rolla, Missouri and married Diane Zelmer in Wichita, Kansas in 1992. A short two years later they relocated to Fort Lauderdale. Diane and Bob are active at St. Sebastian which they joined in 2010. For the past 19 years Bob has designed yachts and has worked for many marine businesses in the area. Bob currently owns his own company, Fort Lauderdale Yacht Design. If you attend the 11:00 am Mass you will see Bob as one of our ushers and Diane as a lector.
Born and raised in Summit, New Jersey, Connie moved to Hobart, New York after marrying her husband, Dick. Connie attended Ithaca College in New York and shortly after graduating she married Dick and they had one child, Michael. In New York, Connie was a member of Sacred Heart Church and served as Choir Director for 25 years.
Liz was born in Hollywood, Florida and attended a local Catholic Grade School and High School. Liz and her husband, Matthew, were blessed to be married by Father Pat in 1996. They reside in Fort Lauderdale and Liz is an Associate Director for a maritime labor union. She has been a member of St. Sebastian since 1995 and currently serves as a Eucharistic Minister, a member of the YES Committee.
Rosemary was born in Brooklyn, and raised in Oyster Bay, NY. She graduated from St. Dominic HS, Manhattanville College and received her MA from Columbia University. She has lived in Johannesburg, Lima, Hong Kong, Paris and several cities in the US. Much of her travel was due to husband Jim's work with IBM. While in Paris, she attended the American University of Paris earning a Certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language. Once back in Connecticut, she worked for Norwalk Community College designing and managing literacy, ESL and communication skills programs in industry. Happily retired and a parishioner since 2000, Rosemary serves as a lector, Eucharistic Minister and is a member of the Council of Catholic Women.
Chuck was born in Barre Vermont and is a former graduate of Bentley College. In 2008, he relocated to Fort Lauderdale as Chief Financial Officer of a proprietary LED Light Engine and Fixture Manufacturing firm. Currently, Chuck is Managing Partner of Grate Ideas of America which fabricates PVC pool grates for municipalities and water parks globally. In addition to his responsibilities as Managing Partner, he earned his Real Estate license in 2014 and is a Broker Associate with Re/Max Experience By The Sea.
On a personal note, he and his wife Rhonda have been married for 35 years and enjoy spending time with their two children and their spouses and their two grandchildren. In his spare time, Chuck is an active member of St. Sebastian Church where he assists as an Alter server, Finance Committee Board Member, Parish Pastoral Council Board Member, Men’s Club Co-Treasurer, and volunteers his time for various fundraising and charitable events.
